About the Role

A reputed multinational engineering consultancy is hiring a Lead – Electrical Design Engineer for its expanding Substation and Transmission & Distribution (T&D) division. This role involves managing the design and engineering of high-voltage systems for major power and oil & gas projects, as well as leading a team of skilled electrical engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & engineering of HV substations, switchyards, and T&D systems per international standards.

• Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), layout plans, and control/protection schemes.

• Perform technical and commercial evaluation of vendor bids for electrical equipment.

• Calculate sizing for transformers, switchgear, GCBs, DG sets, UPS, DC systems, and bus ducts.

• Conduct power system studies, earthing and lighting design, and specification preparation.

• Guide and manage a team of electrical engineers through all project phases.

• Review vendor drawings and ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering

• 8–15 years of experience in:

  • High-voltage substation/switchyard design

  • T&D system engineering

  • Power plant or oil & gas projects (mandatory)

• Skilled in power system calculations, design documentation, and layout development.

• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards for electrical systems.
