About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Accounts to join our dynamic Finance & Accounts team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial operations, preferably within the Shipping or Logistics industry, with expertise in Tally, MIS reporting, and financial analysis.
This role involves managing day-to-day finance activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting leadership in process improvements and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
Prepare MIS reports, financial summaries, and analytical insights for management.
Coordinate with teams for expense monitoring, cost control, and budget tracking.
Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance reporting accuracy.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and basic tax/statutory requirements.
Assist in audit preparation, reconciliations, and documentation.
Support GM – Finance & Accounts in strategic financial decisions.
Apply knowledge of freight billing, demurrage, port charges, and logistics accounting.
Requirements
MBA in Finance or CA Inter qualification.
5–7 years of experience in Accounts & Finance, preferably in Shipping / Logistics.
Proficiency in Tally ERP and MS Excel is a must.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, MIS, and accounting principles.
Experience in freight accounting, vendor reconciliation, and port/transport payments is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to lead a team, manage priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
