About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Accounts to join our dynamic Finance & Accounts team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial operations, preferably within the Shipping or Logistics industry, with expertise in Tally, MIS reporting, and financial analysis.

This role involves managing day-to-day finance activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting leadership in process improvements and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.

• Prepare MIS reports, financial summaries, and analytical insights for management.

• Coordinate with teams for expense monitoring, cost control, and budget tracking.

• Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance reporting accuracy.

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and basic tax/statutory requirements.

• Assist in audit preparation, reconciliations, and documentation.

• Support GM – Finance & Accounts in strategic financial decisions.

• Apply knowledge of freight billing, demurrage, port charges, and logistics accounting.

Requirements

• MBA in Finance or CA Inter qualification.

• 5–7 years of experience in Accounts & Finance, preferably in Shipping / Logistics.

• Proficiency in Tally ERP and MS Excel is a must.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting, MIS, and accounting principles.

• Experience in freight accounting, vendor reconciliation, and port/transport payments is an advantage.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to lead a team, manage priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
